Happy Birthday Mahika.
This young lady was the one who started me out ...the first Barbie Cake was for her.
That started a trend.
Birthday cakes for GIRLS only....
But this cake making is probably the best thing that I do. The pleasure on the faces of the kids...AWESOME!
That erases any difficulties that I encountered in making the cake.
And this cake had many, many difficulties.
An egg free cake- a challenge in its own right, that did not rise, the second cake came out small...and then the fondant was playing difficult.
No cocoa powder, no vanilla...and no yellow food colour.
Too much raspberry red food colour was the next...
but the end result was a pretty garden of flowers.
And the butter cream was the actual icing on the cake!!
I love frosting with butter cream- children absolutely adore the taste of butter.
There were a few fingers on/in the frosting before the birthday girl could cut the cake...and of course the expected demand for the flowers!!!
An empty platter, happy children and an ecstatic me!
I love playing out ....little babies are great fun...
The recipe for the egg free cake-Nita Mehta's recipe yielded a small cake with a great crumb and texture and moistness. And a great chocolate flavour to top it all.
That follows in the next post...
This post was specially for Mahika.
Wish you a very happy birthday...may all your wishes come true and may you always walk on a bed ....cake of flowers.
God bless you!
So what are you baking today???
My hope for your day
Carries sunny thoughts your way,
With laughter and celebration
Headed your direction.
May your Birthday today
Be as sweet as honey!
