During this last one month I have tried out many many cakes and got many many compliments....but then I do know that for sugaroholics as long as anything sweet is coming by....no one wants to complain...
leave it to rest till its ATTACKED and WIPED OUT!!!
As usual.....Sweet child o'mine to the rescue....
I'm looking at the glass half full and believing that all those who I made into guinea pigs did really enjoy the cakes ....
here's an all time favourite...
I call it the
BASIC BUTTER CAKE.....
something that you can never go wrong with......
for this you need
2 cups flour
2 eggs
125 gms butter
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 cup powdered sugar
what you need to do..
Pre heat oven to 180C
separate the eggs
line and grease and dust a baking dish....
In a bowl beat the egg whites till soft peaks form.
In another big bowl cream the butter and add the sugar in gradually......till fully incorporated
Sift the flour three times with the baking powder....(thanx shweta...)
Beat in the flour a third at a time alternating with the milk. You'll get a thick pasty doughy batter.
Into this now fold in the beaten egg white and then pour into the tin.
You'll need to level the batter to get an even rise to the cake.
Bake at 180C for 30-32 minutes. Its done when it leaves the sides of the tin and is springy to the touch.
After you take it out...wait a minute...run a knife around the edges and invert the cake.Invert the cake again to get the right side up.leave it to rest till its ATTACKED and WIPED OUT!!!
As usual.....Sweet child o'mine to the rescue....
So what are you baking today?
