Smart phones and smart women.
Indispensable in today's world.
No one can live without either a smart woman or in today's high pressure city life-a smart phone.
I'm a recent convertee...
It's been two months, and I really don't know how I managed without my smart phone . In fact I'm ruing the fact that I settled for a small phone. My smart phone should have been bigger.
But then ,that kind of draws attention to the carrier of the phone.
The women are smart alright, but the cities are getting unsafe .
Bringing us to the objectives of this blog post.
I know baketitude is only to do with food but when I have a chance to be a part of a movement initiating safety for women, food has to wait.
I have been brought up as an independent, competent and capable woman. There is no task that I can't do (besides the obvious of course -I am not interested in displaying my physical prowess. ..I'd rather leave that to the men).
There is no road I can't travel or no mountain I cannot climb.
However after December last year ,when an innocent girl was gang raped in moving bus when the city folk went about their business. .. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
I have a few suggestions for women travelling out of their homes for work or for pleasure.
I am sharing my Smart Suraksha Tips at BlogAdda.com in association with Smart Suraksha App.

- Carry a phone. Fully charged. And also carry your charger with you. Almost everywhere you'll be able to hook your phone up and spike the battery.
- Ditch the headphones. Leave the radio and the music and the blissful ignorance of the road and traffic to those local yokels. Pay attention to your surroundings.
- Observe. Make sure you notice what people around you are doing. Keep an eye on what people are doing and try to keep your reflexes sharp.
- Use public transport as far as possible. If you are not able to use company transport or your private transport, stick to places where people throng. Metros or maybe cabs from reliable companies. Make sure to note the number of the cab. Travel with people.
- The more the merrier. If there is someone who wants to create any trouble, he will avoid crowds.
- Avoid travelling alone. There is always safety in numbers. Its more fun when you have company and friends or colleague s around.
- Dress conservatively. Old fashioned, I know, but remember it's always better not to attract too much attention when you are not on familiar ground.
- Don't display your jewellery or high end branded gadgets or speak of anything that smells money. All that can be done among family or friends or where you know you are safe. So if you do possess a snazzy smart phone or iPhone or psp or Ipod--avoid showing off. There will always be someone lusting after it and thinking of ways to try to filch it from you for a few quick bucks.
- Be sober. Keep your alcohol intake to a minimum. Cocktails and tequila shots are good only when you know you are safe. Carry a pepper spray or a pointed object in your bag that you can reach for fast.
- Be ready to scream and run. Make sure that your screech is audible and sharp . Feed in numbers like the police and your home on speed dial. You never know when you might need them. Know that you have to run -fast. ..even if it means ditching your Aldo shoes, you can always get another pair...
Music and games and ebooks can be accessed at home.
When you are out , keep your eyes peeled and senses sharp.
Be safe.
Your family loves and needs you.
Its your responsibility to look after yourself.
