Chocolate Cake in A Coffee Cup -Microwave and super quick

Posted on 01:31 by Unknown
All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt! Lucy Van Pelt (in Peanuts, by Charles M. Schulz)

Quick ,I crave chocolate!
And I'm dying ...living in a Chocolate deprived haze...
I need , I need ...
The perfect sized chocolate cup cake in a coffee cup in under 5 minutes!
Oh my...You don't just crave chocolate...you CRAVE chocolate!
Any one who does not love chocolate will be unable to understand the need for that one bite...
Its that one chemical that makes every wrong right!

And this is not technically a chocolate cake...its a cake with LOTS of chocolate.
Sweet Child has been demanding a chocolate cake all for himself , for the last so many days.
I finally, capitulated to his petulant demands.
I finally made him a cake ....in under 5 minutes.
It was finished even sooner..and the petulant demands have risen in volume ever since.

If you are like me, and love that kick of chocolate......get set to race to the microwave.
This recipe is adapted from here minimally.

for the

Chocalate Cake in A Coffee Cup -

Microwave...

you need

1 tbsp butter
2 tbsp sugar-1 egg
1/4 cup flour
1 generous pinch baking powder
50 gms more or less semi sweet chocolate/chocolate chips
A few drops of vanilla essence

Crumble topping
1 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp sugar- brown or white

Start with a cup. First decide if you intend to share the cup cake or devote to the chocolate gods in your tummy.
I had no choice...I needed one for sweet child and the chocolate gods in my tummy would have killed me if they didn't get their fair share.
So I needed 2 cups. Mine were a Little lager than demi-tasse.
Mixing in another cup.

Start with the butter. If it is not soft, nuke it in the microwave for 10 seconds.

Add the sugar.Whisk with a spoon. Don't use a whisk or half your cake batter will be sitting in the sink and not your tummy.
Break an egg into this cup. One thing is sure, this cup will never hold coffee again...egg rules now!
Whisk and whisk...30 seconds...you'll get a call from the tummy to tell you to stop.
Now bung the flour in, and the baking powder, straight from the can..no need to sift.
Add a few drops of vanilla.
Now chop the semi sweet chocolate into LARGE chunks and pour them into this batter.
Lightly fold in...
Divide into the two demi-tasse cups.

Now the crumble...
I should have used more butter.
All together , mix
And divide over the two cups.
Now into the microwave. Full power 1 minute.
The cake starts to puff up...10 seconds maybe 20 seconds and the cakes are ready!
Yup! Ready!
Yul never have that excuse again...takes too much time...too many utensils etc...sweet sister...listening???

Sit in peace and shoo the dog away.
There is not too much to share.
And enjoy...warm and oozy chocolate and lovely cake...

We'll try the egg less/ Egg free  version , maybe in a day or two...

So why are you not baking today???

PS And I capitulated to his petulant demands again...
The full amount as only one cappucino cup...
Dangerous...I've opened a pandora's box...and unleashed the insatiable greed for chocolate!

So are you baking today???
